Arts District Apartment
2002 Addison Street, Berkeley CA • Google Maps
Developed by Panoramic Interests, LLC
Project Description
While employed by Panoramic Interests, LLC, the principals of Hudson McDonald served as project managers for this 21-unit, mixed-use apartment project located at the corner of Milvia and Addison Streets in Downtown Berkeley. The project is located within Berkeley's Arts District and the building incorporates a number of art projects created by local artisans. The project includes state-of-the art office, classroom, and training space for Computer Technologies Program, one of the project partners.
The project as originally proposed was significantly over-budget and behind schedule. As project managers, the principals of Hudson McDonald implemented a redesign that eliminated seven proposed "loft" units thus allowing a more cost-effective construction type. They secured additional construction financing and managed the building's construction.
